This Needs to End

... this is something that I just need to get off of my chest, so if you are wondering if this is going to be one of those ranting posts... I would say yes, yes it is.

There is nothing that irks me more than designer impostor purses, except maybe for the people who carry them and think they are fooling someone. I very literally had to be restrained at a recent "purse party" to keep me from calling the cops.

Let me clarify before everyone gets all "Well-not-just-anyone-can-afford-LV" (me neither by the way), I'm not saying that you have to carry a designer bag. Some of them aren't even that great (I'm looking at you See by Chloe). You know who does have cute bags? Target, Express, etc. Better to buy one of those than a knock off. My issue is with the people who want the look of a designer bag without paying for it. There is a word for that... it's called cheating.

I have a few things to say to those undesirables:
  • I worked for a luxury purse store for years, you know what our favorite past time was? Picking out the fake bags that walked by in the mall. Then laughing. You should know that.
  • With that in mind, you should also consider that the people you are trying to trick into thinking that you are on their level (ie: The extremely fierce women who frequent Saks, Neimen Marcus, or sit front row at Fashion Week) will know the difference. They will also laugh at you.
  • A quote from the Coach website that very eloquently states other issues with knock offs: " The counterfeiters illegally profit at the expense of Coach and affect the entire economy through lost revenues and taxes. In addition, counterfeiters do not typically honor safety and environmental regulations, namely child labor and anti-sweatshop laws. Without a doubt, the high quality and workmanship embodied in genuine Coach product is not duplicated in the counterfeit product; counterfeit quality is typically poor."
  • Buying impostor bags supports child labor, poor economy, terrorism, shamelessness and an unforgivable level of tackiness. I hope your Goach bag was worth it.
